Was reading all the Double Dutch messages…very interesting. I’m a 40 year old mother of two girls…I have been running a skipping club for two years now…I have about 130 kids in the club. I have been teaching double dutch, I’m having a hard time remembering the song Dish….We played D-I-S-H..dish..F-I-S-H…fish….and so on. Also D = double dutch. I = Irish ( backward dutch) S = swedish (holding one rope while jumping back and forth over the other, the rope you are holding gets switched from hand to hand going over the head. H = harmony ( two ropes low to ground going back and forth crossing each other.) does anybody know more than that?

How about: Dum dum doh doh, catch me if you can. i can run faster than “so-and-so” can. The person named had to chase you, jumping once and circling around until someone missed the rope or the caller got caught. Played this in Detroit in the late 50’s, early 60’s

Hi, my I am 18 years old and the Double Dutch Divas let me know that it is not to late for me to start a double dutch team. This has been my dream for about 4 years now .I live in fl. and there is not much going on with the double dutch scene. It would be something different and somewhat new. I lived in NY up until the age 16. and always wanted to be apart of a double dutch team but, did not know how to go about doing it. I was a somewhat sheltered child so i didn’t really know about popular happenings in double dutch. the internet wasn’t really advanced as it is now. So if there is anyone out there that’s reading this i am asking if you can help me with some info. on how to start a team the requirements are mainly what ineed ihave been researching the web and found some info. thankyou and goodbye until next time, Akaiyah
