Do you guys remember playin’…

Streetplay Discussion Archive Posted on November 26, 1999 by Streetplay DiscussionsOctober 18, 2014

Do you guys remember playin’ wallball & roofball as well as punchball & stoopball? I lived in Yonkers and for wallball we would draw two foul lines and a short & long limit line. You would bounce the spaldeen off the wall & it had to bounce past the short line or drop in front of the long limit line. If it bounced short, too long or foul it was an out. If your opponent cought it on a fly it was an out, but if he didn’t catch it, you got a base per bounce til he got it. Ex. 2-bounces a double & 3 a triple!

How about those big hunk candy bars? I finally found a place on the net where I can still order them and I ordered a case to give out as gifts. Anyone want the address? just ask. Use to eat a pink peanut pattie , anyone remember these? how about when we bought little packages of sweet kool-aid and dipped lemons in them? Little cokes in bottles still better than the big ones! I had a Baby Soft Sounds She cried when you picked her up… kind of like this: Wah, wah, wah, wa-! (the last wah was always cut off) Or else she’d say Mom-ma!

Fried ham fried ham cheese…

Streetplay Discussion Archive Posted on November 26, 1999 by Streetplay DiscussionsNovember 26, 1999

Fried ham fried ham cheese and balogna and after the macaroni we’ll have onions and pickles and (something) and then we’ll have some more fried ham fried ham fried ham Second verse same as the first under water and a whole lot worse (then you try and sound like you’re singing under water… or like a baby, or really loud, or really quiet, or whatever) Drove our guide leaders insane. 🙂

Streetplay Discussion Archive Posted on November 24, 1999 by Streetplay DiscussionsNovember 24, 1999

God I loved skully when I was little. On 7th Street between Avenue B & C there is still an old painted skully board. I asked a kid sitting on a stoop if he plays it and he didn’t know what I was talking about. What I remember was that half of the fun was in dodging cars!

Mexico Texaco. Does anybody…

Mexico Texaco. Does anybody remember that? That was my favorite. Also I remember “Strawberry Shortcake Cream on Top” not “Ice Cream Soda Cherry on Top”. I was jumping rope in New York City in the late 70s. It’s always interesting the different variations of the same games due when and where. My Chinese Jump-Ropes were kinda like bungee cords but I vaguely remember the rubber band ones.
