Does anyone remember a game, where you would line up in a row, and the first person on the line threw the ball against the wall and jumped over it. Everyone behind the leader had to jump over it when it came to them. If you touched the ball you were out and went to the back of the line. What was it called??? Bragg St between V & W (Brooklyn) in the 50s 7 60s Thanks.

Hello there, At school, there is an alternative sports assembly , and a bunch of my friends and I are starting a wall ball team for our school. I know it sounds kind of corny but it would be a lot of fun. The only problem that we are facing is all of us have different little fragments about how to play the game but not the whole rules. So if anyone could help me out here that would be great. The only thing I know is that Wall ball is played with a hollow rubber ball and is bounced against the wall with different tecniques until one of the two players breaks the bouncing rythm. So if you could e-mail me, I would greatly appreciate it. My address is

We used to play a game in the i950’s in charleston s.c. and we called it half rubber or half ball. we didn’t know anything about pensie pinkey’s or spaldeen’s we would take any kind of solid rubber ball and cut it in half. Man, what a fun game, it was played on the order of baseball but no running to the bases. Has any one out ther ever played this game? If interested I can give you all the rules.

Hello All, My mom phoned tonight asking on how to play a childhood game she called Seven up involving bouncing a ball against a wall and doing various tasks in numerical order. Ubfortunately she couldnt remember the tasks and whatnot. I assured her I would search the net and find out so here I am. I beleive some inputs on this sight referring to Russian seven or Russian 10/12 are the same game she was asking about. If anyone could email me , , with the complete rules I would most appreciate it. Thanks all, Maria

Spaulding balls ruled in the Bronx during the 60″s and 70’S. With the introduction of injecting helium in the ball, we had some fast, bouncing handball games. I miss the days of stickball in the streets, Can someone make a game for playstation. I’ll buy it!!

Hey I am 48yrs old and for some odd reason I was talking to my wife about some games I played up in Baltimore as a child. We would buy a penn pinky and play on the steps of the school house. If you were good enough you would slam the ball on the corner of the the steps which would make that ball fly, otherwise if you hit the ball on the flat surface of the step yuo would have a ground ball. We chalked in bases and played just like stickball. I beleived we called this game curb ball…Did other places play this way?

When my sister and I were kids in Alberta in the 60’s we used to play a game where we put what we called an”Indian Rubber Ball” in an old nylon and then would stand with our back to the wall of the house and recite: “Hello, hello, hello SIR. Can you come out to play SIR? No SIR. Why SIR? Because I caught a cold SIR. Where did you catch your cold SIR? At the North Pole SIR. What were you doing there SIR? Catching a polar bear SIR. How many did you catch SIR?” All the while bouncing the ball from side to side. When we said SIR we had to raise the appropriate leg and bounce under that side. At the end, we would answer the last question by bouncing under our legs as many times as possible. We tried to get higher and higher each time.
