I remember playing elastics…
I remember playing elastics way back when. I’m trying to teach my kids but i’m a bit fuzzy on the jumps. We’d play double elastic and single. I’d appreciate some help. Thanxs! Email to

Hey! I cannot remember the rules of BS…Bull for my children and I…LOL Does anyone know them? How do you deal the deck to start?
Does anyone remember this game? It was played from curb to curb. Any number of players could play. They would all line up on the street curb and shout “What’s in the icebox”? A caller would shout out items like “eggs”, everyone would run to the other curb. But the caller would also say things like “chair”. If anyone ran after hearing this, they would be “out”. This went on until there was one person left (who did not run or even move on a word that was not found in an icebox). I grew up in South Philly and remember it well. I am finding this site very nostalgic, a trip back to the late 50’S. Thanks.
In Chicago in the 40’s we played a game called “Russia,” bouncing a tennis ball against a wall. I think #1 was to throw the ball onto the wall and catch it, #2 was to throw the ball and let it drop and then catch it, and #3 was to throw the ball and clap once. Beyond that, I’m not sure. Other tricks were throwing the wall and clapping twice, putting a hand on the wall and throwing the ball over the arm and catching one-handed (both arms?), and slamming the ball onto the ground in front of the wall to let it carom off and then catch it, and throwing the ball under a leg (both) and catching it. Can anyone help?
Hi, I’m a senior Journalism student and I’m doing a folklore paper over jumping rope. Here is a rhyme my father remembered. Last night, night before 24 robbers at my door. I got up and let them in, hit em’ in the head with a rolling pin.
I’m looking for a book that had the game roly poly in it. The post office lost it for me 15 years ago. When I originally found this book, I was so excited because they mentioned the game roly poly and how to play it. I remember we had different subjects in the boxes,i.e. fruits, cars etc.
I have been searching thru my memory for the details of this same game! I remember using a golf ball, and bouncing it in each square as we named things to match these catagories – but I’m lost for the actual format and basic rules. Anyone else out there remember? I grew up playing this in upstate New York.
