I remember those great fancies….
I remember those great fancies. Jacks was something that I was very good at. On a rainy day it was especially fun to sit and play. My friends and I would sit with our legs stretched wide because then the jacks would kind of stay within this area. Flipping was very funny too, because after a while everyone was very good at it and it could take a while for someone to drop a jack while flipping. Yeah – I don’t remember the rule about separating kissies – was it allowed? What happened when you were on onsies and had kissies – all these silly names – definitely girl names.
To bfzeiger … YES!…
To bfzeiger … YES! My girlfriend and I collected and traded those charms. I remember going to one particular machine over and over again, trying to get the “featured” charm – A worm in a red apple. When you turned the top half of the apple, a worm poked it’s head out. I have the apple and some of of the other charms today … I treasure them … Now, I’ve moved on to bigger and better things … Like talking refrigerator magnets. ; )
CLAP! CLAP! CLAP! …
The only Seven Up I remember…
The only Seven Up I remember was played on rainy days in our classrooms. First, seven kids were selected. The rest of the class put their heads down on their desks with one thumb stuck up (like the “ok” sign). The seven selected students quietly went around the classroom– each one turned down one thumb. When the rest of the class raised their heads, the ones with thumbs turned down had to guess who did it. If you guessed the right kid, you got to be one of the Seven Up.
Actually, we used something…
Any of you collect plastic…
How ’bout separating “kissies”…
In our two family house,…
In our two family house, music lessons were the thing. My cousin, Arnie, who lived above us, learned to play the trumpet. My brother, Lenny, was the accordian maven. And I, with my chubby little hands, took piano lessons. I actually liked it very much. At 48, I can still read music and play. And I still have those chubby little hands.

here goes, butirfli: Does your chewing gum lose its flavor on the bedpost overnight? When your mother says don’t chew it, do you swallow it in spite? Then it catches on your tonsils, and you heave it left and right? Does your chewing gum lose its flavor on the bedpost overnight… How’d I do?
