I was surprised to find no mention of SLAPBALL, but I see where an earlier post refers to the game as “Triangle”. A pitcher, free to throw fast or slow, or any kind of fluke, a batter who slapped the ball into play and then ran the bases (first, third, home). Excellent game.
The game referred to as “off-the-wall” was played with “automatics” in a baseball version. Just throwing the ball up against the wall and trying to catch it (usually quite a large throng–maybe 10-25 kids), was known in our neighborhood (Flatbush), as “Catchafliesup”.
