I played Chinese handball in Flatbush, roughly 1957-1962. A fine game. Our local version had no ace–it was King, Queen Jack, 10, 9,……….and then “salt mines”.

A bad bounce would immediately result in a cry of HINDOO! In most cases, a hindoo would result in a do-over.
