Slumber parties were THE…
Slumber parties were THE thing to do and all girls should experience them. I always got to buy new baby doll pjs whenever there was a new sleepover. We were not real mean but we had fun. We would put underwear in the freezer, Truth or Dare, talk all night, play records, eat junk food, take pictures (whatever happened to all those pictures?)Hope to have one again before the big sleep.
Light as a feather…stiff…
Light as a feather…stiff as a board…light as a feather stiff as a board… Man, I miss that! It was so cool! That and Ouija boards which were SO real to me back then. Oh, but how we loved to freak each other out! Oh and Sardines in the dark! Where one person would hide and when you found them, you’d would join them until all but one of you was still searching. In the dark made it so much more fun. You could hide almost in plain site and not be found forever! I can remember just waiting for it to get dark and parents to go to sleep. We would turn off all the lights and leave only one small light on (either the one over the stove if the kitchen was near or a light in another room with the door cracked). Everyone wanted to be the first to lay down and have her friends encircle them and start the chant as they were lifted into the air. I don’t think we were all that mean to each other or played tricks. I do remember Amy Boero’s mom’s amazing blueberry pancakes in the morning! Drats, now I want to have a slumber party!
When I slept over, I would…
When I slept over, I would always wake in the middle of the night to find my best friend’s creepy little asthmatic brother hovering over my side of the bed, breathing heavily; caught up in a pre-adolescent fantasy freak fest. I had to beat him down until Valerie woke and joined in the fight.
At my friends party when…

One time we flooded my friends kitchen floor with and put some palmolive on it to make it extra slippery. we played slip and slide until her mom woke up. She wasn’t very happy when she realized the water had leaked into the basement. woops! oh yeah we also tried to have seances and hypnotize eachother. it was fantastic!!
I remember going to slumber…
I remember going to slumber parties and doing the water thing but also doing all the eating of junk food that you didn’t get to do at home. They were some of the best times. I also had one friend who had the best parties and her bedroom was the whole upstairs of her house. It was a great time and we never got bothered by her mom as long as we were quiet. Those were great times but it was sad to hear a couple of Christmas’ ago she was in a terrible accident with her grandma and was killed. I have fond momories of her. Slumber parties are something that you should make sure your daughter have! Thanks for the site and making me remember.
