I commend you on a fascinating web site. I recommend that you bring the discussions (or best of) to the fore. The many wonderful stories and memories are buried beneath your opening pages. You might want to think of a little more cross-referencing. Keywords in a reminiscence can ‘remind’ you to check out another category by clicking on the keyword (stickball, choosing-up, schoolyards, etc.) Thanks for all the work you’ve done and best of luck. -TJ
Love your business plan-it it is so honestly counterintuitive..it has to work. Let’s incorporate and issue shares of stock to our readers; the revenue used to pay a Sports celebrity to endorse STREETPLAY merchandise; it will surely lose money and fail miserably; but at least we will get big time exposure and a stickball bat with Joe Torre’s signature!!
you should expand your streetplay to include road hockey. That is what kids in our neighbourhood play even though there is a by-law in town that prohibits road hockey. Other street games played around here include lacrosse, roller hockey, baseball, basketball.
Ron, we’re in a never-ending struggle to deliver a speedy site that is visually appealing. Most of the images on our pages are fairly small (both in dimension and filesize)… some of the older pages we have are admittedly not as efficient as newer ones (with superior HTML coding techniques that allow the page to display in your browser before the graphics actually load in). Please let us know if a particular area of the site is sluggish for you; we will attempt to optimize it as much as possible! Rest assured that the Streetplay development staff is not sitting in a ultra-wired offices with DSL/T1 lines all over the place. We’re just a bunch of people with using modems, like you. Some of our pages (photo essays) are graphics-only; in a great deal of them the images are typically 200×150 pixels and link to even bigger versions of the picture–they serve essentially as thumbnails, though not as tiny as an icon on a computer desktop. -Hugh McNally Director of development Streetplay.com
The graphics are too big and take too long to download. Thumb nails would help.
i just want to say keep up the good work the site is great ton’s of great memorys and i just want to say thank’s oh one thing how about baseball card flipping .
Hello everyone, We’re playing around with new and improved ways of displaying the discussion area on Streetplay. If you want to get the full effect, click here to view the revised “frame-view” discussions… tell us what you think, yo. Please note: all the great Streetplay discussions are still here… we’re just trying to make stuff easier for you to find. -Hugh McNally hmcnally [at] streetplay [dot] com
