These memories are straight out of Frankford in the 70’s, My little playmate,(clap, clap) come out and play with me, and bring your dollies three climb up my apple tree, slide down my rainspout, into my cellar door, and we’ll be jolly friends, forever more, forever more. 2nd verse My little playmate,(clap, clap) I cannot play with you, my dolly has the flu, boo hoo hoo hoo hoo hoo slide down my rainspout, into my cellar door, and we’ll be jolly friends, forever more, forever more

I remember that whole song. It was uno doce trece, hit it! My mama told me six years ago, There was a lady walking down the road Saying ooh ahh I want a piece of pie Pies too sweet I want a piece of meat Meat too tough I want to ride a bus Bus too full Want to ride a bull Bull too black Want my money back Money too green I want a pot of beans Beans too hot Want to lay a fot Naa Naa Naanaaaanaaaaaa. I remember we stood north, south, east and west facing each other. Two girls facing each other, started out hitting hands on top, while the other two girls went low. Then you went to opposite sides clapped with those girls and then started back at the top. I remember this being a hard one to master.

The game described as Hop Scotch we called Potsie. We played Hop Scotch on a grid of six boxes one above the other. Each box was the width of a sidewalk box. The idea was the same as Hop Scotch, but you had to hop the whole course. (No two feet down at any time). You turned around in the home box still hopping and picked up your “potsie” on the way back.

I played a similiar game : A my name is Alice and my husband’s name is Al we come from Alabama and we sell Apples. B my name is Betty … Every time you use that letter your leg goes over the ball. When you missed a pass or lost control of your ball it was the next player’s turn I spent hours doing this.
