After reading some of the comments by some of the ladies on skipping rope, they shoul”d take a look at my web site on jetomatic.com & they will see a new & innovative type of jump rope that requires no hands to operate it. It requires only one person to operate it. Complete automatic & is water propelled & spray”s a refreshing mist of water around the jumper. The rope stops turning upon contact with the jumper. The speed of the rope is determined by the regulator on one of the poles. Operates on regular home water supply and garden hose, & is mobile. nothing like it, It is also great summer fun for young and elderly alike.Itcan be set for one revolution per second or much more depending on preference of the jumping party better yet it is made in the U,S.A.TO send comments after viewing site E.Mail to jetomatic [at] jetomatic [dot] com or click on E.Mail on web pages address sheet. Anyone remember I won’t…
Kissies – I haven’t heard…
Kissies – I haven’t heard that in years. Where was your favorite place to play jacks? Mine was on a painted concrete porch, preferably just swept with a broom. Did you play with ten jacks and pick up the jack while the ball was bouncing? Then, you would transfer the jacks to the other hand and catch the ball with the hand that picked up the jacks (like everything with your right hand)? I’m sure different areas played differently just as we sang different songs to jumprope. I grew up in Baltimore and that’s how we played.
Just think of the condition…
Just think of the condition we could all be in if we could double-dutch now. I would love to be able to do it again – at the age of 47. Jumping rope is supposed to be great to lower cholesterol. Maybe I’ll go buy a rope. The kids in the city of Baltimore don’t quite do d/d the same as we did as kids. They jump on one foot at a time, alternating feet back and forth. We jumped from side to side, both feet together. For the lady looking for chinese jumprope – I bet if you went to the library you could find some illustrations. Don’t they have everything in the library? Jumprope, hopscotch and jacks were my favorites. Board games came in second. I guess I was a cheap kid.
Didn’t the sailor go to…
Babs – Yep, definitely…
Does anyone remember the…
Does anyone remember the subsequent verses to a sailor went to sea sea sea? Next there was chop, then there was knee, then there was toe. At the end you were saluting, making a chopping motion in the bend of your elbow, touching both your knees and touching both your toes all in sequence while saying [a sailor went to] sea-chop-knee-toe and then coming back up in time to continue clapping and singing. What a workout. Always wound up giggling.
Gosh ,I guess there are…
Gosh ,I guess there are so many versions of all these. Here is what I remember: Cee Cee my playmate, come out and play with me and bring your dollies three, climb up my apple tree. Slide down my rainbow into my cellar door and we’ll be jolly friends forever more more, shut the door! and how about: Not last nite but the nite before, 24 robbers came knocking at my door as i ran out, They ran in hit me on the head with a bowling pin I asked them what they wanted and this is what they said. Spanish dancers turn around, Spanish dancers touch the ground etc, etc etc. And: My sailor went to sea sea sea to see what he could see see see but all that he could see see see was the bottom of the deep blue sea sea sea. The reason I am on here is because I am trying to find the rules for chinese jumprope. I remember about the first 4 or 5 things you do but I draw a blank after that. Anyone??

I would love for anyone who knows about chinese jumprope, please let me know where I can get illustrations on doing this. I grew up with this and I would love to teach my daughter. I know there is ways to do neat things with your hands and also with the feet. Thank you Codie3569 [at] aol [dot] com
