Anyone remember this whole thing? I met a senorita going to the fair … …with flowers in her hair. shake it, shake it, shake it shake it if you can shake it like a milkshake then shake it once again… I can’t remember the second line or if there’s any more to it!

Mexico Texaco. Does anybody remember that? That was my favorite. Also I remember “Strawberry Shortcake Cream on Top” not “Ice Cream Soda Cherry on Top”. I was jumping rope in New York City in the late 70s. It’s always interesting the different variations of the same games due when and where. My Chinese Jump-Ropes were kinda like bungee cords but I vaguely remember the rubber band ones.

Does anybody remember the clapping game with four girls? It went: Uno, dos-e, tres-e Hit it My mama told me six years ago There was a lady knocking at the door Saying ooh, ah, I want a piece of pie The pie too sweet, I want a piece of meat The meat too… I can’t remember the rest of it. Also there was another game where everyone stood in a ring, one hand upturned over the person on one side of you, the other hand under the upturned hand of the person on the other side of you. YOu would slap the person next you’s hand who would slap the person next to her. It would proceed around the circle until the last word of the song. The person taht got slapped at the last word would be out of the game. I can’t for the life of me remember the nonsense rhyme that went with it, though. Eenie…something? Does anyone remember this game? It was a lot of fun. Sometimes we had ten people playing this game at once.

Miss Lucy had a baby, his name was tiny tim she put him in the bathtub to see if he could swim. he drank up all the water, he ate up all the soap, he tried to eat the bathtub but it wouldn’t go down his throat. Miss Lucy called the doctor, Miss Lucy called the nurse, Miss lucy called the lady with the alligator purse. “Mumps” said the doctor, “chicken pox” said the nurse, “nothing” said the lady with the alligator purse. Miss lucy punched the docter, miss lucy kicked the nurse, miss lucy paid the lady with the alligator purse.

That’s really funny, madpony. The atchi catchi liberatchi part was something we used to tack onto songs when we were your age, 30+ years ago! I guess kids just keep adding on new stuff as they go, which is what makes it fun and interesting.
