Hi I am trying to teach my sister some clapping songs…. So far she knows a weird version of patty cake (Patty cake patty cake bakers man bake me a cake as fast as you can roll it and pad it and mark it with a “_” and put it in the oven for “_” and me. She also knows a version of playmate “Sisi my playmate, come out and play with me, and bring your dollies three, climb up my apple tree, into my basement and we’ll be playmates forever more more shut the door” I need help with the playmate song I used to play it when I was in grade one but me nor my friends can remember the exact words.

Lisa, thanks! That was one of my favorites. Brain’s a little rusty, but I’m going to give it a shot: Going to Kentucky, going to the fair, I met a senorita with flowers in her hair, Oh, shake it baby, shake it; shake it if you can Shake it like a milk shake, then do it once again Oh, rumba to the bottom; rumba to the top Turn around and turn around until you make a STOP! There you go. That was fun.

I remember chinese jump-ropes . Mine was like a bungee cord too and it was all different colors . I still wish I was as skinny as when I did that . I used to be pretty good at double-dutch too . I used to get together with my friends each day and jump for hours! We even made books of our favorite sayings and shared them with other girls at school .

My daughter has been singing a clapping song that I used to sing. She sings it very differently. I can’t seem to remember how I used to play it. It goes something like this. ‘When ??? was a baby, a baby, a baby ….. She went oh ah oh ah ah.’ As you can see, I don’t remember much of it. It goes on to when, I think Sally, was a toddler, teenager, adult. Does anyone remember this one?
