Or…does anyone know the rest of this song?I think I learned it in girl scouts. The tune is to The Battle Hyme of the Republic. Oh…I wear my pink pajamas in the summer when it’s hot and I wear my pink pajamas in the winter when its not And sometimes in the spring time and sometimes in the fall…I jump right in between my sheets with nothing on at all. I thought there might be a chorus. Thanks!!

Does anyone else know this?My dad taught it to me in about 1978.I was so proud to have rememberered ALL the words!Ive never known anyone else who knew it! anyone ever heard it? Shoes and socks and stogies… When I was a bum. Sleepin’ in a boxcar…drinkin’all the rum. One mornin’ I woke up … I did not wish to steal… I went to Mrs.(make up a name)and asked her for a meal. She looked at me…I looked at her. She thought I was a thief. She brought me in and sat me down…but darned if I could eat. The roaches on the table, the pig behind the door…and (make up a name)’s face in noodlesoup but darned if that was all! Next mornin’ I woke up…I looked upon the wall-the bed bugs and the roaches were havin’ a game of ball. The score was 19 – 20 the roaches were ahead…a bedbug hit a homer and knocked me outta bed! Automatic butter Systamatic cheese Coney Island Bacon and Double Jointed Peas!!

Streetplay Discussion Archive Posted on November 10, 2000 by Streetplay DiscussionsNovember 19, 2014

I grew up in the West Bronx.University Avenue and Tremont Avnue from 1941-1955. I went to PS 26 and then onto JHS 82′ Macombs JHS. I remember the long trip every day to De Witt Clinton H.S. in the North Bronx. taking 2 busses.the first to Ft. Independence and then chaging to go onto Clinton by the reservoir. I had a great growing up in the Bronx and wouldnt change it for anything. Playing ball and playing in the snow on the Aquaduct right across from my bldg’ 1865 University Avenue. I remember the Park Plaza Theater every Saturday morning for the serials and movies all day long. I remember the NYU campus and “chickee” the cop and the Hall of Fame. Sunday morning bagels and “a rye sliced without seeds”. I also remember the Paradise theater where you took that “special” date to and across the street to Krums Ice Cream Parlor. The stars above at the Paradise and the drifting clouds were mysical to me. So many great memories that I cant begin to enumerate here.

I do remember jellies plastic sandals. They were great and a few of us would swap at school so we could get to wear different colors. When are they coming back? Boys used to wear them too, but don’t seem to now.

This is Emily. My mom says that cracked marbles really works. I want to know what kind of marbles won’t crack when you heat them. I don’t want to break up any of my marbles. i really like shooting and I hope to learn more games soon. My mom doesn’t have her marbles any more but she says everyone had their own Crown royal bag that they carried their precious steelies, cat eyes and crystals in. maybe the 60’s weren’t that bad!!!!!!!

Streetplay Discussion Archive Posted on November 6, 2000 by Streetplay DiscussionsNovember 6, 2000

I remember double riding my sister on my bike’s handlebars. She’d sit right there on the front of the bike with her feet dangling down. How hard it was to turn with her on there, because of the weight. Also riding with no hands was so cool. When I mastered that, I thought I’d do better and try to ride with no hands and no feet. Needless to say, it didn’t work out so well…

there’s a place in France where the naked ladys dance, there’s a hole in the wall, where you can see them all.
