PS 195, in the early 70’s….

PS 195, in the early 70’s. Had a friend named Randy (girl). She had a llittle brother named Adam. Don’t remember her older sister’s name. I beat up a girl bully for her. Liked a boy named Butch. I think I saw him years later and he’d become a cop. I miss that school. I liked that we had Spring Fest, where we chose a boy to pretend to marry and we crawled beneath tableclothed tables, where in the dark we had to put our hands in bowls of worms (wet spaghetti). Fun was innocent and pure back then. I think little kids nowadays would get a kick out of it, still.

i’d absolutely never forget my first kiss. it happened at school the day before he was about to leave the country for a four day vacation, it was a wednesday..February8. it may seem cheesy but of course no one could bear being apart from the person they love even for just a single day. well.. that kiss was so unexpected. before he left he was just embracing me and saying that he’d miss me and i should always be careful while he’s not around. then he suddenly let go of the embrace and leaned closer. at that time, i was so nervous but i was completely frozen. then it happened. i swear after that i couldn’t stop smiling and couldn’t say anything. that was extra memorable because of course he was my first kiss and right now we’re still together and very much happy:D

Never hung out with him but, Christopher Walken was from where I grew up, in Astoria, Queens. His family owned, Walken’s Bakery (Great Jelly donuts LOL) on Broadway.

My first happened when I was 14. It happened on Valentines day and it was sweet. The whole way walking home I could not wipe the silly grin I had on my face off.

It was in 8th grade in 1974. His name was Emil and he had green eyes and curly dark blond hair. We had been flirting with each other for 2 months, walking each other to class. He gave me butterflies in my stomach and I thought I loved him. At the end of the semester, we were standing in the stairwell and he called me his girl and lifted my chin to his and softly kissed me on the lips. It was innocent and pure and sweet.

Hey, my niece does this to me all the time I see her! She’s just turned 14. Only the above style she performs like a nursery rhyme. All I can remember (usually I am all a tingle when she starts as I am very ticklish..) is the part “comma, comma, comma, comma—Question Mark!” “big squueze—(followed by a hug)” “cool breeze” with the subsequent blow upon my neck. Goose pimples every time.

I grew up in Philadelphia…

I grew up in Philadelphia and I remember part of another “skin” game, similar to what you describe. You used someone’s forearm and you planted a garden (or something like that). As you said “first, you rake” you scratched the person’s arm, then you flicked as you “planted”, you spat, to “water”, slapped to “pat” down the ground. Eventually, red marks, (and a good planting left welts!) would result in the “harvest”. I can’t remember this exactly, because it wasn’t very nice, but it was clever!
