Hello! I am attempting to run a “back in the Day Games” at Father Judge HS. My hope is that it will serve a few points. First I hope to provide a socialogical lesson to the Sony Playstation Generation. Fun can be had for almost no money. Secondly, to provide exercise for our young men who are either in great shape, or horrible shape. If you have any suggestions or wish to be a part of this please feel free to contact me jmbjudge [at] netscape [dot] net Jason B

Deadbox! I have the dirties elbows in South Philly. Would anyone know where I can get a t-shirt with the game imprinted on it? I saw this once in a magazine and don’t remember where. Can you help me? Thanks, Chrissy

Wireball, pimple ball, half ball, hand ball, we played all of them. Especially lots of stick ball in my neighborhood, in the Far Northeast..

Oh my goodness! I’m loving this message board! I grew up in Philly playing games with my sisters and friends AND was a girlscout from Brownie to Cadet. Even went to camp four years straight. (Anybody here do Camp Laughing Waters in Gilbertsville, PA from 1969 to 1972?) One song my sisters, friends and I sang: Everybody’s doin’ it, doin’ it, doin’ it Pickin’ their nose and chewin’ it, chewin’ it. Put it in a pot and whataya got? French fried boogers and a bowl of snot! (Are kids disgusting or what? ROFL!) We used to sing the “Sippin Cider Through A Straw” song in girlscout meetings. :> My mom taught us the “Found a Peanut” song. Yep, Joanne, those are the verses she taught us. :>

I had forgotten all about this one, until I read the message on Buck Buck. I remember watching my brothers and the other boys on the street playing it. How I loved growing up in Philly! We lived in the Richmond Section.

If you’re from Philly , you have to remember Camp Wm. Penn in E. Stroudesburg , sponsored by the Phila. Dept. Of Recreation — 2 weeks in the Poconos for Two dollars !! WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE IT WAS FOR KIDS !

Anyone remember “Buck Buck”?…

Anyone remember “Buck Buck”? The gang split up into two teams. One person from each team was designated as the cusion. He would stand with his back agaist the wall and his teammates would line up. The first teammate would lean down and put the top of his head against the “Cusion’s” belly. The rest of the team would line up behind the first like a train with their heads down. The second team, one at a time, would run from the curb and jump on top of the other team’s players and try to make them collapse. Every time a player would attempt to knock the other team down, he would first scream,”Buck Buck #1 coming..” and so on until the weight of the other team was too much and the first team would collapse. Great site! Looking forward to seeing more of the games that I have forgotten that I would like to teach my two sons. They still don’t understand why you wouldn’t use a whole pimpleball!!!!!!!!
