Miss lucy had a baby she named him Tiny Tim. she put him in the bathtub to see if he could swim. he drank up all the water. he ate up all the soap. he tried to eat the bathtub, but it wouldn’t go down his throat. miss lucy called the doctor, miss lucy called the nurse, miss lucy called the lady with the alligator purse. in walked the doctor, in walked the nurse, in walked the lady with the alligator purse. mumps said the doctor, measles said the nurse, chicken pox said the lady with the alligator purse. i don’t know if there is anymore to it.

Yes! Yes! Yes! On Miss Mary Mack, MacK, MacK. Does anyone remember the full verse to … Miss Lucy? I think today, both Mary Mack and Lucy would be “Ms”. ; )

I don’t remember another verse. There were probably lots of versions. This verse had a couple of other lines. Miss Mary Mack, Mack, Mack, All dressed in black, black, black, With silver buttons, buttons, buttons All down her back, back, back She asked her mother, mother, mother, For fifty cents, cents, cents, To see the elephants, elephants, elephants, Jump over the fence, fence, fence, They went so high, high, high They reached the sky, sky, sky They never came back, back, back, Till The Fourth of July, Ly, Ly.

I taught this to my girl scout troop a couple of months ago and they loved it!!

How about— One two three a lairy(?), four, five, six a lairy seven, eight, nine, a lairy, ten a lairy, postman. (Each time you said “daisy” you’d cross your leg over the Spaldeen.) Then came a daisy, which entailed slapping you knee between the time the ball bounced and ou caught it. Than a buttercup, (bouncing the ball through a “cup” placed by joining your hands together), etc. Ring a bell anyone?

Hey – I’m a guy (from Jamaica Queens), but I have a “kid” sister – mid 40s now. She and her silly girlfriend used to play all these games, giggling non-stop. I wonder if her friend still has that laugh! I recall some game called concentration – I don’t know if a ball or clapping was involved. They’d say “Concentration letter A, may I repeat the letter A, because I like the letter A, Alice begins with the letter A. Right through the whole alphabet. Drove me nuts!
