> the only rules were you had to wear your best > shoes and new pants. This way you were sure > to get your mom extra upset. This is twisted. I love it. If I ever wore anything other than my many-patched dungarees (remember calling them dungarees?), my mother would have cut me off at the knees, making me a shorts-wearer, to solve the problem!

For years my sister called me Thea, short for Cynthia. She would send away for things and have them mailed to me, to Thea. And I hated it for one simple reason – my name is NOT, NEVER WAS, and NEVER WILL BE Cynthia!!!!!!!

Cat’s Cradle was a complicated…

Streetplay Discussion Archive Posted on June 16, 1999 by Streetplay DiscussionsJanuary 3, 2020

Cat’s Cradle was a complicated game. A game that required its players to be coordinated and somewhat expert in the art of string. To play Cat’s Cradle, two pairs of hands and a long string were needed. (Bakery Box string was always best)The game was started with the first player looping the string around her hands to create a specific design. The second player was required to remove the string from the first players hands, in such a way, that she created a second design. Players took turns until no more designs could be created. I never figured out how to remove that last design. It had to be removed with your pinkies!

In Philly it was called Deadbox, the only rules were you had to wear your best shoes and new pants. This way you were sure to get your mom extra upset. I loved to hear thoses words “Wait until your father comes home”
